Who can apply for the grants?
Individuals or family units of coexistence who meet the following requirements can request the aid:
1. Lack of sufficient financial income, as indicated below.
2. The applicant must be of legal age or a legally emancipated minor.
3. Be registered in one of the three municipalities on the island of El Hierro.
What are the grants?
Aid may be requested for one or both of the following lines:
Line 1: Help for the payment of electricity bills for the year 2018.
Section I: Up to € 495
Section II: Up to € 330
Section III: Up to € 165
Line 2: Help for the acquisition or renovation of more efficient electrical appliances.
Section I: Up to € 600
Section II: Up to € 450
Section III: Up to € 300
What section am I on?
The sections are calculated from two data: the number of members of the coexistence unit and the annual income of all the members of said coexistence unit, according to the following table:
If the maximum annual income established for section III is exceeded for the number of members of the corresponding coexistence unit, you do not meet the requirements to be a beneficiary of the aid.
What appliances can be purchased or renewed?

How do I know what energy rating an appliance has?
Each appliance must have a label like the one shown in the image.
The colored bands labeled with the letters D to A +++ indicate the scale for measuring energy efficiency, the most efficient being the A +++ rating.
The energy rating of a particular appliance is displayed in black to the right of the colored bands. In the image, the label corresponds to an A +++ rated appliance.
How are the applications ordered when granting the aid?
Applications are ordered by score from highest to lowest according to the sum of the following criteria:
1. Section:
Section I: 60 points
Section II: 45 points
Section III: 30 points
2. Applicants or a member of the family unit with a disability: 10 points.
3. Applicant or a member of the family unit over 65 years of age: 10 points.
4. Applicant or a member of the family unit less than 18: 10 points.
5. Unemployment situation of the applicant or a member of the family unit: 10 points.
How do I apply?
In two ways: electronically or in person.
1.Electronic filing
In the electronic office https://sede.elhierro.es select the procedure "Aid for poverty and energy saving on the island of El Hierro" and select "Electronic processing". It is necessary to have an electronic certificate.
2. Presential presentation
You can complete the application at the electronic headquarters https://sede.elhierro.es, select the procedure "Aid for poverty and energy saving on the island of El Hierro" and select "Face-to-face processing". You can fill in the form and upload documentation. To make the presentation, you must go to the Social Services offices of the Cabildo.
You can also go with all the documentation to the Social Services offices of the Cabildo.
Can someone other than the applicant file the application electronically?
Yes, to do this when you start the application you must select "On behalf of another person".
The data of the applicant must be completed in the section “Natural person” and the data of the representative must go in the section “Legal representative”.
What documentation must I submit?
The documentation to present that must accompany the application is the following:
1. Photocopy of the DNI or identification document of the applicant.
2. Photocopy of the Family Book, or failing that, document proving the custody, custody or guardianship, or foster care.
3. Certificate of collective registration, issued by the City Council in which it is registered.
4. In the case of people with disabilities, certificate of legal disability status.
5. Proof of economic income and assets of all members of the family unit of coexistence:
In case of being an employee, a photocopy of the employment contract and the last monthly payroll.
In case of being a pensioner, updated INSS pension certification.
In the event of being unemployed, DARDE of all unemployed members of the family unit and a certificate of whether or not they are a beneficiary of unemployment benefit and, where appropriate, the amounts received.
If you are studying, an accrediting certificate.
In the case of self-employed workers, a copy of the last payment on account of the Personal Income Tax (model 130 or 131).
6. If you choose line 1: Electricity receipts for the year 2018.
7. If you opt for line 2: Budget or pro forma invoice for the electrical appliances to be purchased or renewed, in which the energy classification of the same must be expressly stated.
The first electricity bill of the year 2018 includes days of 2017 and the last bill of 2018 includes days of 2019, can these receipts be included?
Yes, but only the days corresponding to 2018 will be paid prorating the total of the invoice.
Do I have to buy the electrical appliances now?
No. The electrical appliances must be acquired once the granting of the aid is published. From that date you have one month to purchase the electrical appliances and justify the aid.
